The astronauts first produced artificial meat in space |
The meat produced in the laboratory is no longer limited to earth. For the first time ever, Elif Farms and partners have produced artificial meat in space. The experiment was conducted on September 26 in the Russian section of the International Space Station. A 3D printer uses bio-printer to prepare meat at the station. The astronauts made this bioprinter a piece of meat.
The technique used by Alif copied the tissue regeneration process of the cows under artificial conditions.
One of the major changes in the preparation of meat in space was that it could be prepared from one side at a time. This is not possible because of the gravity of the earth.
At present, meat preparation in the space may not begin on a large scale, but the company is currently experimenting in that regard.
With the help of a bioprinter, astronauts will be able to cook meat in space instead of having the luxury of breeding animals. This way, during the long journey, they will get the protein they need for their filings. In this way, meat can be saved by producing meat on the ground.
