Japan's space agency has partnered with NASA, under which the Japanese agency will build a space station in orbit of the moon. The station will serve as a base station for flights to the moon.
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency in a statement confirmed the construction of a gateway to the moon. As a partner with NASA, Japan will provide technical assistance.
According to the Japan Times, Japan will supply batteries, air-conditioning and oxygen systems for the station. Japan has not yet confirmed its practical involvement in the construction of the station. Japan has reservations on the cost of the station, some decisions will be made later.
The spacecraft stationed near the moon will also be able to use missions to Mars. The journey from this station to Mars will be 300 to 400 days.
