Navigation on the Internet is a daunting task for the visually impaired and the visually impaired. The vast majority of the content on the Internet consists of visuals. It is difficult for users using screen readers and braille displays to learn about content contained in videos or images.

To address this issue, Google has announced the addition of a new feature to Chrome.

This feature will identify the items in the images and display them as text descriptions. This feature will work on the same technology, which allows users to search for images from the words and displays auto generated descriptions of the images.

Unfortunately there are billions of images on the Internet that are not labeled, says Laura Allen, senior program manager for Chrome's team.

He said that when you browse for such images with a screen reader or a braille display, you are basically listening to them. ۔

This feature of Chrome will only work on screen reader or braille display. In this feature the screen reader will read the description of the images aloud but it will not appear on the screen in the form of text.

For this feature users will need to enable Get Image descriptions from Google by going to Settings then Advanced then Accessibility section. This feature can also be enabled on a web page. You will need to right-click and click Get Image Descriptions from Google in the context menu.
